Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) is an advanced development of traditional fiber-reinforced concrete. Unlike GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), which focuses primarily on flexural strength for manufacturing architectural and decorative products, UHPC places greater emphasis on the compressive strength and structural performance of the material.
In the early 1970s, experts predicted that the practical limit of ready-mixed concrete would hardly exceed a compressive strength of 11,000 psi. However, today, numerous structures have successfully applied UHPC with compressive strength exceeding 20,000 psi, demonstrating remarkable advancements in concrete technology.
To achieve these superior performance characteristics, UHPC optimizes almost every component involved in conventional concrete production. In addition to selecting high-quality Portland cement, the aggregate composition is strictly controlled and carefully engineered.
