Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Plant Project – Phase 2

The Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Plant Project – Phase 2 is a renewable energy project developed in Hoa Binh District, Bac Lieu Province, with the objective of harnessing coastal wind potential to generate clean electricity, contributing to national energy security and promoting local socio-economic development.

The project has a designed capacity of 50 MW, comprising 13 Vestas wind turbines (Denmark), each with a capacity ranging from 3.8 MW to 4.0 MW. The project is developed with a fully integrated infrastructure system, including an operation building, substation, and modern technical facilities, meeting standards for safe, efficient, and sustainable operation.

With a total investment value of approximately VND 2.4 trillion, the project not only supplies a stable source of clean electricity to the national power system through a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Vietnam Electricity (EVN), but also contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing environmental impacts, and supporting Vietnam’s green energy development goals.

Beyond its energy benefits, the Hoa Binh 1 Wind Power Plant Project – Phase 2 also serves as a catalyst for local economic development by creating employment opportunities, promoting supporting services, and integrating harmoniously with marine aquaculture and coastal afforestation activities, contributing to ecosystem protection and sustainable development.

To date, the project has been completed and officially put into operation, becoming one of the representative wind power projects in the Mekong Delta region, making a positive contribution to Vietnam’s transition toward a greener, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly energy structure.
